their autumn colors
put on a shawl of white

on the edge of the storm
we are not quite yet
consumed by the commotion

The Work Of Faith


grain in the silo
barn full of hay
devotions made each day

Holding Whatever Is Offered


the pasture
empty of cows
filling with snow

This Is How Winter Begins


a snowfall
so fine
to be almost invisible

Darkness Gives Us Light


and so
the breath of snowfall
can be seen

feathered ones know
winter says goodbye
in snow
