I’m always astonished at bird photographs– and this is one of the best. Patience and stillness indeed…😀

That’s a beauty. Loons nesting are hard shots to get – they don’t like anyone getting too close.
This is at Mitchell Lake and it is a very private place where the loons and eagles and herons nest. They feel so safe and secure this loon nested in the marsh at the lake edge rather than on one of the islands available.

Loons always reminds me of an old film called On Golden Pond. One of the lines spoken is ” the loons are coming “
