In 1983, I experienced the eye of Hurricane Alicia, and I’m here to say the metaphor is perfectly apt. It’s interesting how the pattern of feathers around the eye resembles a storm’s form.

I love owls too. As I was driving down the driveway I noticed what looked like a clump of leaves on the telephone line. It was this guy with his head tucked in low – scanning the meadow for breakfast!!
