Love the bark.
Looks like plane trees to me. Interestingly they are common in London Parks and were there to ‘clean the air’ in Victorian times when smoke was common from coal fires.

In the UK the answer would be plane.
“riddle trees in puzzle bark” … love it
I believe it’s a sycamore. I think that’s the same as a plane tree in the UK.
