What a STRIKING tableau
Beautiful, but…what is it exactly? Pollen on water?

Pollen, yes, and vernal pools are loaded with bacteria (which makes them great incubators for all kind of growing things) so that may account for some of the coloration. And there are leaves and things beneath providing colors.
What a beautiful abstract indeed nature paints !
Have been staring at this for some time. Love the movement and vitality in the image.
I could look at this all day …..
multilayered and complex.
This a different type of photo from what I have seen, more abstract. I like it.
vernal pools can be magical. A local naturalist (here in Virginia) made a movie about all the life that evolves for the time the pools exist.
