Much more natural and divine, one suspects, than a bishop’s fabricated cloak.
Lovely photograph indeed… and moving thoughts… marvellous post!

Seedbud: Great capture! You know I love Cardinals…the shadowy composition is excellent.
It’s that time of year, isn’t it? I saw some males chasing one-another yesterday, trying to show the females that they’d make a great catch…
Perfect pairing of image and thought. Thank you!
The first song I heard this morning was a cardinal calling before the sun was even up. His was definitely the song of spring!
I love watching the cardinals fly about outside my kitchen window. The bright makes at lovely but so are the muted color of the female. Nice pic!
We don’t get these here. They look very fine and handsome.
It is hard to have a favorite bird – but if I did these might be mine.
I think that would be an excellent choice! Mine might be chaffinches, bull finches, green finches…all the finches! Hope your day is beautiful across the water.
Divine – a cardinal in red robes!
I wished we had those birds here! So beautiful
Oh this is great, Catherine! 🙂 ❤
Thanks Natalie. I just adore cardinals. Have a great week! Best, Catherine
Very beautiful Cardinal!
I just recently started seeing cardinals in the park near me. They really are beautiful. You’ve captured this one’s majesty in red.
I love them! 🙂
that’s the Illinois state’s bird
wholly and holy appropriate words for a beautiful creature!
The red of his feathers is brilliant! Jane
