A certain crispness has crept into the air
and something heavy now weighs on Tom’s mind
a distant worry that has been hunting him.

Great humor or perhaps you had a more serious observation in mind.
Yes, he does look a little worried!
Love this – and it’s cooling down here too. 🙂
Poor turkey, maybe we will all have vegetarian Christmas instead x
How many weeks until Thanksgiving?
Very, very funny! Your writing is amazing! Which comes first the image or the poem?
Nicely done
very well done…that’s a mature Tom and probably smart as well
Poor turkey. I hope he finds a good spot to get away for a while come November.
Clever. A laugh burst forth. Well done.
I can smell the aroma of Thanksgiving dinner now!! Sorry Tom! 😉
Blessings – Patty
brilliant!
They’re doing the same thing at my house, but they’re running in packs here. Safety in numbers?
We have a lot of wild turkeys where I LIVE, IT IS FUN TO SEE THE GROUPS ON MOTHERS AND YOUNG AND HOW FAST THEY GROW. tHE MALES SPREADING THEIR TAIL FEATHERS AND SHOWING OFF IT QUITE a SIGHT.
While there is no crispness in the air yet, here in central Florida, I saw a wild turkey yesterday as I drove through the Ocala Forest. And more exciting yet, I saw a half grown black bear standing at the edge of the woods. A first for me, though they are plentiful in this area. I reckon fall is on the way, even down here. Great picture and very nice poem. Tom does, indeed, looked weighed down by heavy thoughts. Hopefully he’ll be able to forage for a long time to come.
So funny! I love how you capture the essence of your pictures with such great writing.
