A quarter of a flower,
a sliver of the sun,
a portion of August.

Lovely! We have these yellow flowers in our garden this year – do you know what they’re called by any chance?
I’ve been wondering what they are called too.
I love these ones.
It’s no good, I’ll just have to look them up! I’ll let you know if I find out what they are. Great photo and lovely poem. I do enjoy your posts dropping into my inbox each day. Thank you!
very pretty photograph and flower. Some kind of Rudbeckia perhaps?
Beautiful photo and poem combination.
You beautifully capture the essence of late summer–colors anticipating the autumnal.
great capture and title
spectacular composition Leaf and twig!
Very interesting to look at =)
I like how the shallow depth of field turned the top right into little blue pearls.
Are they black eyes Susan’s? Lovely poetry to day
Lovely verse and photo. I think the flowers are called Galardia.
You have captured the beauty of August in picture and verse!
gorgeous shot, and the bokeh in the background is perfect!!!
Just gorgeous! The composition is intriguing and beautiful–and the poem is lovely, too!
Lovely. I adore the color.
I am very impressed with your colorful photos and look for ward to having your e-mail. The words underneath are lovely too.
This is beautiful.
You know, I’ve never commented, even though I love your posts in my inbox every day. They are so uplifting and beautiful! But this one is spectacular; and I love the words. A sliver of the sun — thank you!
This turned out to be an especially nice photo. Everything in it harmonizes.
That is a beautiful picture with ones eye being drawn from the centre of the flower at the bottom left up through the yellow petals to top right, where the blurred background gives the effect of grey bubbles emanating from the leaves.
Photo and poem, great combo.
This slice of life haiku is one I like.
Lovely photo and haiku.
