Love the photo. Beautiful words too.
Too early for a melt?
Enjoying the way you connect lovely images to lovely words. Thanks!

Thanks so much for sharing me with your readers.
Looks cold enough though!
Throw rocks to hear the shattering ice, to see the miniature icesheets turning in the water, I love it.
This is a familiare and welcome sight for me, that never cesases to be wonderful. Lovely.
Mother Nature is confusing the flora and fauna with the warm temps we’ve had recently (now returning to those single digit temps we are no longer acclimated to!)~ Kat
how true…perfect words for a wonderful photo…when I clicked on the link in my email I clicked the numbered link by mistake, which I didn’t know, takes me to a very large version of the photo…it is a beautiful shot…the smaller version does not do the photo justice!
And the shadows are beautiful!
Like seasons, like minds…
I love winter shots – you have captured this perfectly!
Beautiful and inspiran.
The picture by itself speaks volumes and your few words allow the photo speak for itself.
Thank you this picture reminds me of the number of times as a fearless child I ventured out across a frozen pond, resulting in cold wet feet and legs
Beautiful shot an words. Makes me long for my native New England, where it was cold enough in winter to have a “thaw” now and then.
My first look, Impressive from the start.
As much as this is beautiful, I have to say I’m not missing the January thaw one bit!
Very true and nice post!

Beautiful–and short-lived. Now we’re back to snow, with bitter cold to come. At least we have some new snow cover after the snow. Thank you for your picture-poems—they gladden my heart.
Looks a bit thin even for shadows. Lovely photo
Beautiful and very peaceful picture!
It has the feeling of a place the mind can rest.
As I lived on a lake in Maine for over 30 years, this photo brings back fond memories. Beautiful capture.
Very peaceful photo. Love.it.
A beautiful photo…
I like this photo very much ♥
What a special place you live it. Beautiful!
The ice is so thin it can only bear the weight of shadows. Vivid words and lovely photograph.
